Duties and responsibilities of a receptionist

Ensure that the reception area is tidy and contains all the necessary office supplies such as pens, booklets and workplace papers.
Answer and transfer incoming phone calls.
Receive and sort daily mail.
Providing administrative support and coordinating work activities.
Receiving and responding to emails.
Sending and receiving faxes and saving work files.
Interacting with customers and strengthening the relationship with them.
Organize appointments, schedule meetings, update calendars.
Preparing meeting rooms, making travel plans, and making presentations.
Keep copies of documents and records.
Ensure that visitors are registered when they arrive at the reception area and save their data on the computer.
Answering any inquiries or questions needed by customers or visitors.
Maintain office filing system.
Meeting customers’ needs during their visit to the workplace.

Receptionist skills and qualifications

In order to be successful in the receptionist position, you must have some skills and qualifications that enable you to carry out work tasks to the fullest extent, which are as follows:
